How to check CSSPS school placement in Ghana

CSSPS is the Computerised School Selection and Placement System that places BECE candidates into senior high and technical schools. Here is exactly what you need and how the check works.

Before you start

  • Your 10-digit BECE index number and examination year.
  • Your BECE results — buy a BECE Result Checker PIN from us and check on ghana.waecdirect.org in seconds.
  • The placement checker card issued for CSSPS. It is a different card from the WAEC Result Checker PIN, so keep both safe.

Check your BECE results first

Placement is based on your BECE aggregate. Buy a BECE Result Checker PIN from us, then check your results on ghana.waecdirect.org before placement opens.

Wait for the official CSSPS release

The Ghana Education Service announces when school placement goes live, usually a few weeks after BECE results. Placement is not available before that date.

Open the official placement portal

On your phone or computer, go to https://cssps.gov.gh — the official Computerised School Selection and Placement System portal run by GES.

Enter your BECE index number and year

Type your 10-digit BECE index number exactly as it appears on your results slip, then select the examination year.

Enter your placement checker details

Where the portal asks for a placement checker card or PIN, enter the details on the card issued for placement. This is a separate card from the WAEC Result Checker PIN used for results.

View, print and report to your school

Your placed senior high school, programme and residential status appear on screen. Print or screenshot the placement letter and report with it during registration.

Common placement questions

Can I check placement without my BECE results? You can, but placement only makes sense after you know your aggregate — check your results first.

Does the WAEC Result Checker PIN work on cssps.gov.gh? No. Our PIN checks BECE, WASSCE and NovDec results on waecdirect. Placement uses its own checker card.

What if I'm not placed? GES opens a self-placement window for candidates without a school. Use the same portal and pick from schools with vacancies.
